Website Policies
Buyers of Craft Ribbon, Bows etc.
I have to add this.
Colour matching can be tricky — if you’re trying to match a ribbon to a dress or fabric, I recommend sourcing from the same fabric supplier rather than relying on my standard colour palette. The photos on my website are as accurate as possible, but colours can vary slightly between screens.
If you’re unsure, I suggest ordering a single reel as a test with the intention of keeping it (ribbon always comes in handy for future crafts or gift wrapping). You’re also welcome to book an appointment in Tralee to view ribbons in person before buying.
As a small business, I can’t absorb the cost of impulse returns or errors in size/colour choice. While EU law provides a 14-day cooling-off period, return postage in these cases is the buyer’s responsibility, and shipping fees are non-refundable. I include detailed descriptions and clear photos to help you choose confidently, but if you’re in doubt, please ask questions before you order.
Returns & Refunds Policies
In over 10 years of trading I’ve never had a single return on my handmade creations, and only a very small number of craft ribbon items have been returned because the colour didn’t match the customer’s project. See section above.
Because of this, I ask customers to choose carefully before ordering craft supplies. Margins on these products are very small, and the costs of processing returns can quickly outweigh their value.
That said, I comply fully with EU Distance Selling Rules: you have the right to a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you receive your goods. If you change your mind or are not satisfied, please contact me within 14 days and arrange to return the item within another 14 days. Return postage costs in such cases are the buyer’s responsibility.
To help avoid the need for returns:
● I provide detailed photos to show colours and textures as clearly as possible
● I write descriptions with more detail than most sellers
● I pack all orders securely in strong boxes so they arrive safely
If you’re unsure about a colour, size, or suitability, please use the Contact Form before checkout to ask questions — or, if you’re near Tralee, make an appointment to view items in person. I can take an additional live photo if need be.
Long Distance Selling rules apply.
You have the right to a 14 day cooling off period or change of mind after receipt of goods. If you change your mind or are not satisfied with the quality of the products or they are damaged in transit you should within 14 days Contact me and then arrange the return of your purchase within another 14 days under the following terms:
1) Returns Due to Issues with Your Order
For Craft Ribbon, Bows etc. please read the top section above.
A) If there’s an issue with your order, please Contact me first, provide photos if needed, so that I know why you want to return your order and we’ll then agree on the return process as per these policies. Once the item is returned in good condition, I’ll refund your original payment or offer a Credit Coupon for the same value as your original payment if you so choose.
B) For items that are damaged, damaged beyond use in transit or items not as described (though this should never happen), I will be responsible for the return shipping cost.
2) Returns for Change of Mind or....
For Craft Ribbon, Bows etc. please read the top section above.
If you change your mind, order the wrong size or colour, find the product unsuitable, or didn’t fully read the description, return shipping will be at your expense and is non-refundable. I provide detailed product descriptions, clear photos and encourage buyers to contact me with any questions before purchasing. If you’re near Tralee, I recommend making an appointment to view items in person instead of ordering online. You can arrange this using the Contact Form. In these cases, I will either refund your original payment minus the shipping or issue a Credit Coupon for use on my website if you so choose. As a small business, I hope you understand that I don’t have the resources to cover all shipping costs. Thank you for your understanding!
3) Free Shipping & Returns
If your order qualified for free shipping under my shipping policies, return shipping costs will not be reimbursed and will be your responsibility.
4) Check Your Order Promptly
Please inspect your package as soon as it arrives. Delays in reporting issues may indicate acceptance of the goods as received.
5) Refund Processing
Refunds will be processed after I receive the returned items in the same condition they were sent. For your protection, I recommend using tracked shipping, as I cannot refund lost return or delayed packages. Return shipping may be reimbursed if applicable, please read section 1 above. Ireland: Return within 14 days of purchase for a refund. Refunds are normally processed after I receive the returned goods and may then take 3 business days to reach your card or account. International purchases have 14 days from the time of receipt to return items and then refunds will be carried out as above. All returns & refunds are bound by the terms outlined in this Returns & Refunds Policies section.
6) Custom Orders
Custom or made-to-order items are non-refundable unless damaged during transit. To assess damage, please provide clear photos of the unopened shipping box and the damaged area inside in the box. Photos of the product damage may then be taken out of the box. This is the same procedure for any orders with transit damage.
7) No Restocking Fee
I don’t currently charge a restocking fee for returned items.
Please Ask if You Are Not Sure
If you have any questions or doubts about any product, please use the Contact form at any time and ask for more information or additional photographs.
Please Consider Keeping Your Order
Alternative Suggestion: If you order something and then change your mind; consider keeping the product and use for something else or sell it on to recoup your money. You still have the right of return as above, however, if you send back an item it is going to cost both of us money in lost shipping fees. You will get your initial full payment back and the return postage will be at cost to you. I will also be out of pocket for the original shipping cost because I will still have to pay the Courier for delivering your original package. I'm a small business and extra expenses can be tough. In many cases the cost of shipping makes it more expensive to return the product. A simple post from one of your social media accounts might yield a local buyer or you can hold on to it for a day that you may actually need it.
Live Nearby?
If you live close to Tralee, I would advise you to make an appointment to see the goods in person rather than buying online. You can arrange an appointment by using the Contact Form.

Becoming a Site Member
Membership Policy for This Website
Becoming a site member offers you enhanced access to exclusive features and services that make your shopping experience smoother, more personalized and enjoyable. As a member, you can easily track your orders, save items to your wishlist, and access other special benefits designed to make your future orders more convenient.
How to Become a Member:
To join, simply sign up using the login link located at the top of every page. However, due to previous misuse of membership accounts, I have implemented stricter security measures to ensure the integrity of this website.
Membership Approval Process:
All membership requests are manually reviewed for approval.
Membership is available only to individuals who have:
• Placed an order in the past, or
• Attended one of my Woodturning Tuition sessions or Experiences, or
• Previously had some dealings with me.
If you haven’t placed an order yet but wish to join, you’ll need to first contact me directly through the website, providing details about who you are, where you live, and why you want to become a member. An example would be; you have just started Woodturning and will shortly be buying Tools from me but need advice first. I'll review your request and respond based on the information provided. I would still be skeptical of this kind of approach. The best way would be to apply and then make a purchase through my website which you then may automatically be accepted. I still get member requests and never hear from the person again, largely due to them not reading the Member's Policies I would think. I also get requests from all over the world from people who have no intention of buying from me so this policy protects me and the website from them.
Membership Eligibility:
-
Membership is open to residents of Ireland, or international individuals who have either placed an order or attended one of my woodturning sessions.
-
My strict approval process ensures that members are genuine customers or students, helping to protect the security and integrity of this website.
Why Such Strict Measures?
In the past, some illegitimate members have misused their accounts, damaging the reputation of this website. To prevent this from happening again, I have strict controls over who becomes a member. I take your privacy and the security of this website very seriously. This means I only approve members who meet the criteria outlined above.
Already Applied and Haven't Heard Back?
If you signed up recently and haven’t received confirmation, it likely means your membership has not been approved based on the above requirements. I see them come in almost immediately and I normally leave these requests active for a week or two to give you a chance to purchase or contact me before deleting them. Please feel free to contact me directly via the Contact page to provide further details if you believe your request should be reconsidered.
Your trust and security are my top priority, and I appreciate your understanding as I work to maintain a safe and authentic online community on this website.

Gift Vouchers Terms & Conditions
Gift Vouchers are a great way of purchasing a gift and allowing the recipient to use it at their own discretion and in their own time. As with all things business, there are Terms & Conditions of sale and use;
• All Gift Vouchers sold on this website are valid for 5 Years from the date of purchase as per Irish Law.
• You do not have to spend the entire voucher in one go, I keep records of your spend.
• There is no change from spending short of the total, so please use the Gift Voucher up entirely.
• Gift Vouchers are non-refundable.
• Gift Vouchers are non-transferable without my express permission.
Woodturning Tuition or Experience Gift Vouchers
Woodturning Tuition or Experience Vouchers should be used within 12 months of purchase to avoid disappointment due to price increases over time. They are still valid for 5 years but if you delay beyond the 12 month period, you may have an additional balance to pay when you use the Gift Voucher. Gift Vouchers should not be used during peak times like late November or December as I will be too busy in the run up to Christmas. January & February is the perfect time to use them.
Please Note: Tuition and Experiences start at 10am on the day.
Recipients should look at my Calendar to see available dates and then use the Contact Page to book.
Where to find Gift Vouchers?
Regular Gift Vouchers for Retail Products & Woodcraft can be found in most Woodcratt Product Category pages.
Woodturning Tuition & Experiences Gift Vouchers are located in each respective listing. There are far too many options for Tuition and Experiences to list them generally. Please use the Listing drop-down menu to view options.
Customer support details & contact info
You can get in touch with me about any issue using the website Contact Page. I have had to limit my Contact details online due to bad actors so please use the Contact Page first and then we can decide the method of Contact from then on. Most questions can be answered in product listings or webpage content.
Order Cancellation
You can ask for an order to be changed or cancelled up until the shipping label has been printed. Once printed, this is chargeable to my account so I cannot refund your shipping once created. The vast majority of people would not create an order and then cancel so this should not apply. If this happens, I may refund your order cost but not your shipping cost. At certain times, I may print your shipping label within minutes of your order being placed. Please do not place an order on my website unless you intend to go through with the sale.
Cancelling a Woodturning Tuition Class
I kindly ask that you avoid booking classes more than 2 months in advance, as the likelihood of cancellations increases significantly with longer lead times. While I’m happy to accommodate cancellations up to 48 hours before a tuition session, please keep in mind that your booking may have prevented someone else from securing that date.
I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but I encourage you to avoid last-minute cancellations if possible. In the past, I charged a €20 cancellation fee to cover some of my time. Although I no longer enforce this, I would greatly appreciate it if you’d consider supporting my small business by Buying me a Coffee or three using the link at the bottom of this page. As a small business owner, every cancellation impacts me, so your consideration makes a big difference. Thank you for your understanding!
Cancelling a Woodturning Experience
These experiences are tailored for tourists, birthday gift recipients, and craft enthusiasts, and I completely understand that unexpected issues can arise while traveling in Ireland. That said, I kindly ask for cancellations to be made at least 48 hours in advance whenever possible. To help manage my schedule, I kindly ask that you avoid booking more than two months in advance, as the likelihood of cancellations increases over longer time frames. Please remember that your booking might have prevented someone else from enjoying the same opportunity on that date.
While I recognize that last-minute cancellations are sometimes unavoidable, I’d really appreciate it if they were kept to a minimum. In the past, I charged a €20 fee to help offset my time lost due to cancellations. I no longer do this, but if you’d like to support my small business, you can always Buy me a Coffee or three using the link at the bottom of the page. As a small business owner, every cancellation has an impact, so your consideration and understanding mean a lot to me.
