Woodturner's Tip
Protect your blanks as soon as they arrive. Place each one in a brown paper bag (Pennies is best, Dunnes will do) and wrap the excess to block airflow. Maintain air gaps around the bag using stickers or wire rack shelving. Wood moves, so this prevents cracks before you're ready to turn. If you round them but don’t turn them the same day, use this method too.
