Woodturning Tuition (Weekday): 4 hours: €140 (€146 online/card payment)

Woodturning Tuition (Saturday): 3 hours: €140 (€146 online/card payment)
4 hours: €180 (€188 online/card payment)
5 hours: €250 (€260 online/card payment)
 
The Saturday rates reflect the true value of the session, but I offer discounted rates for weekday bookings as an added incentive.

I offer personalized, one-on-one woodturning tuition starting with Spindle Turning, ensuring you get my full attention and tailored instruction. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, I’ll guide you through the essentials, from tool sharpening to project completion. With a focus on individual learning, I can quickly identify your strengths and areas for improvement. As you attend more sessions, we can move on to other areas.
 
You’ll be working with professional tools and lathes in a safe, hands-on environment. I provide all necessary materials and safety gear, and you’ll leave with a finished project to take home. Each session is designed to help you build confidence and develop your skills—whether you're looking to start a new hobby or refine your existing woodturning techniques.

Safety & Tools: Proper use of lathes, tools, and sharpening techniques.
Turning Techniques: Depending on your skill level, we’ll work between centers or use a 4-jaw chuck.

My classes focus heavily on advice about getting started—practical skills—tool presentation, safe handling, and efficient turning techniques—so that you can continue your journey in woodturning with confidence.
 
Feedback
Many of my students find that a 3-hour woodturning session flies by too fast, just as they’re getting into the flow of things the session ends. Based on their feedback, extending to a 4 or 5-hour class allows for a more immersive experience—giving you extra time to learn and dive deeper into techniques. If you're unsure which class length is right for you, feel free to reach out—I'm happy to help you choose the best option for your learning goals! I have now decided to end the 3-hour option altogether. I will keep it as an option for Saturdays for those that may have different requirements but I would still advise longer session times for any new aspiring Woodturners.
 
New! Basic Bowl Turning Class:
This introductory rate special 5-hour session is ideal for students with some turning experience. Starting with a simple piece to assess your skills, we’ll move on to create a basic bowl using a 9" x 3" blank. While we may not finish the bowl in one session, you’ll have the option to book additional time to complete it.
 
What You'll Learn- Bowl Class:
Wood selection from log to bowl
Bandsawing safety and blank preparation
Tool sharpening and selection
Bowl turning techniques and theory
Sanding and finishing
Turning off the foot of the bowl
 
 
At the end of the class, you’ll leave with your own handcrafted bowl (hopefully finished) and newfound skills.

Catering
We will have an included coffee break during the during 4 hour session and 2 coffee breaks during the 5 hour sessions. It is advisable to bring along 2 small snacks for the 5 hour sessions. Unfortunately, I do not have catering facilities so I can't offer food.
