Handcrafted Ash Bowl – A Unique Irish-Made Gift
Serve up salads, fruit, nuts, popcorn, or simply let this small handcrafted Ash bowl be a stunning centerpiece for your table. With darkened grain patches contrasting against lighter wood, this bowl has a distinctive look. It’s a lovely little piece and an ideal quick Irish-made gift for someone special.
Elegant Design & Practical Features
This small, shallow bowl is designed with a wider rim than usual, elegantly framing whatever you choose to place inside. Whether used as a utility bowl for everyday household needs or as a display piece, it’s both stylish and practical. A dead knot on the rim was removed and carefully filled with Milliput, ensuring an even surface while maintaining the bowl’s charm.
Locally Sourced & Crafted with Care
This bowl originates from Tralee, Co. Kerry, crafted from an Ash tree that was removed for a new development—saved from being turned into firewood. Ash is my favorite wood to work with, and this particular tree holds sentimental value, as I once lived in Oakpark, where it grew.
Finishing & Aftercare
Sanded to a highly smooth touch, the bowl is coated with Hampshire Sheen Food-Safe Danish Oil and burnished to a low-luster shine using very fine wool. For care instructions, please see the After Care page.
⚠️ Note: Due to its durable finish, this bowl can also be used purely for display if you'd like. However, washing may change or diminish the surface shine over time.
