This medium-sized handcrafted bowl comes from a storm-felled ash tree near Beaufort, Co. Kerry. The tree lay in an elevated ditch for over a year before being salvaged. While the lower trunk had succumbed to decay, the upper section revealed rich, vibrant colors that only time and nature can create—making this bowl a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

I want to be upfront and transparent about this piece. This handcrafted bowl embraces the unique character of natural wood. While it has some subtle imperfections, they add to its authenticity and charm. I’ve done my best to capture these details in the photos, but you may notice speckling or faint streaks upon closer inspection. You might also feel some of these natural textures, though they shouldn’t affect its use or appeal.
I believe that every piece of wood deserves a second life, and this bowl is no exception. Its one-of-a-kind character is reflected in the price, making it an opportunity to own something truly special.
 
Elegant Design & Natural Beauty
Designed with an inward-curved, undercut rim, this bowl has a shape that draws the eye, enhancing the frizzy and quilted grain patterns flowing throughout. Ash is my favorite wood to work with, and this particular piece was a little rough to turn.
 
Recommended Uses
This bowl has a food-safe finish, but due to its natural surface imperfections, I can't guarantee how washing will affect it over time—it may be perfectly fine, but I prefer to be upfront. That said, it makes a stunning permanent display piece or a versatile utility bowl for storing fruit or household items while showcasing its unique character.
 
Smooth, Food-Safe Finish
Sanded to a silky smooth touch, the bowl is undercoated with Hampshire Sheen Danish Oil and finished with Osmo Oil for a beautiful yet functional protective layer. After Care details will be provided with your purchase.
 
Long-Term Care & Display
While this bowl is food-safe, regular washing may reduce the surface sheen over time. Thanks to its durable finish, it also makes a stunning display piece for long-term enjoyment.
