This medium-sized handcrafted bowl comes from a storm-felled ash tree near Beaufort, Co. Kerry. The tree lay in an elevated ditch for over a year before being salvaged. While the lower trunk had succumbed to decay, the upper section revealed rich, vibrant colors that only time and nature can create—making this bowl a truly one-of-a-kind piece.

Designed with an inward-curved, undercut rim, this bowl has a shape that draws the eye, enhancing the frizzy and quilted grain patterns flowing throughout. Ash is my favorite wood to work with, and this particular piece was a joy to turn—the results speak for themselves. A timeless blend of craftsmanship and nature.
