Serve up salads, fruit etc. with style or just have an amazing handcrafted Beech bowl centrepiece adorn your table. This bowl has some lovely Beech grain with some eye catching swirls and directional changes. The rim is wide and undercut giving a beautiful shape that draws the eye.
The bowl comes from a tree from just outside Beaufort, Killarney Co. Kerry which was blown down in 2017. I started cutting this tree in place in late 2017 and again in early 2018. Beech contains a lot of moisture and each log blank I cut had to be lifted by hand through a boggy field and over a ditch to get to my van.
After drying, the bowl sat on my shelves waiting to be turned into the beautiful piece you see here. Please note that there are natural marks here and there which are very much part of the wood as the tree grew.
Finish sanded to a smooth touch. For food convenience, it is coated with a Food-Safe Oil as a finish.
Dimensions 330mm x 128mm or 13x 5 inches approx
Unboxed weight 1350 grams
I'm trying to smile in the photos but I absolutely hate having my picture taken. You will see the size of the bowl in my hands!
Please Note: You can save on the shipping costs by arranging to collect the bowl or have a designated person pick it up for you. Just pay for the item and select Pick Up option for free.
