Woodturner's Tip; Always make sure that the hook and loop sandpaper is applied correctly and stays on the mandrel. Losing the sandpaper while still applying pressure will damage the hook layer and shorten the life of this mandrel. The 25mm Mandrel has a shorter working life than the larger Mandrels. This is due to the smaller area of hooks and using too much pressure behind the drill. Use a very light touch with sharp sanding discs only! I normally allow a certain number of uses of the 25mm before I have to replace with a new one, if I get more than that done I'm delighted.
 
Sandpaper is a cutting tool, not an abrasive tool.
Use the sanding disc for the job in hand and then discard.
Don't be tempted to reuse as you will just be generating heat and burnishing the wood surface potentially causing issues for your finish.
